Niki Landau
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Niki Landau received her Masters of Fine Arts from York University where she specialised in Theatre Performance. She has acted in theatres across the country and in the United States. In 2000, she apprenticed with the legendary Uta Hagen, living with her mentor in Los Angeles. Niki Landau can also be seen in Ms. Hagen’s acting video, Uta Hagen’s Acting Class. In 2005, Ms. Landau returned to L.A. to act in Mating Dance of the Werewolf at the Rubicon Theatre. Ms. Landau also acted in the world premieres of Jason Sherman´s After the Orchard (National Arts Centre) and Reading Hebron (Factory Theatre), and the Canadian premiere of George F. Walker´s Suburban Motel Series (Factory). Other stage credits include Apple (Factory), Comedy of Errors (CanStage), Territories (SummerWorks/Passe Muraille), Borderline and The Dershowitz Protocol (SummerWorks), The Last Night of Ballyhoo (MTC), If We Are Women (Persephone Theatre), Kindertransport (PTE/Persephone), and The System of Dr. Tarr and Prof. Fether (Centaur). Film and television credits include This Beautiful City, The Newsroom, Cycle II, Traders, and All-American Girl. Niki Landau formed Theatre PANIK with Paul Lampert in 2004. She produced and wrote Territories which won ‘Best Production 2005’, ‘Best Ensemble’, and ‘Best Play’ at SummerWorks in Toronto and later remounted it at Theatre Passe Muraille for which it was nominated for the Dora Award ‘Outstanding New Play’.
